It means that in addition to seeing how your social media account is performing, you can also schedule an Instagram post, find relevant influencers, and so much more\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026 but we will discuss the best Instagram tools in the very last chapter of this guide, and now \u2013 back to analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2>\n            III. Instagram as a Referrer: Measure Traffic Quality on Your eCommerce Website    <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Instagram sends traffic to your website. Link in bio, shortened links in caption tests, direct links in DM \u2014 Instagram selling is all about generating traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And in terms of traffic analysis, by popularity,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/analytics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google Analytics<\/a>&nbsp;is second to none. According to BuiltWith, 50% of all websites are connected to this tool. I bet you\u2019re among this 50% \u2013 or will be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may spend hours in Google Analytics, building and analyzing hundreds of reports, creating filters and segments, playing with data sorting, comparing the data for different time periods \u2013 and there will still remain the \u201cdark spots\u201d where you have never been.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obviously, I will not be able to squeeze the GA knowledge base into this chapter, so I\u2019ll tell you the basics.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/analytics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google\u2019s support portal<\/a>&nbsp;will be your further reference if you want to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This useful tool, without any extra steps from your side, will be able to show you the number of visitors referred by Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a couple of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ga-dev-tools.appspot.com\/campaign-url-builder\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google UTM parameters<\/a>&nbsp;you add to links, it will show you even more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"checklist darkblue gb-list__check gb-list__check--blue wp-block-list\"><li>the behavior of users Instagram referred;<\/li><li>the statistics of clicks for different locations of your link;<\/li><li>the number of orders you attracted;<\/li><li>and much more.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You see. There\u2019s no need to find tools that will track your Instagram performance.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3>\n            1. Using UTM Params to Calculate Clicks in Different Locations    <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"ol-numbers wp-block-list\"><li>Specify UTM source as \u201cInstagram\u201d, medium as the exact location of the link (bio, DM or caption text), and set a campaign name in accordance with your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.x-cart.com\/social-media\/calendar.html\">content marketing calendar<\/a>, for example:<em> utm_source=Instagram&amp;utm_medium=linkinbio&amp;utm_campaign=christmas_sale<\/em><br><\/li><li>Shorten the link via&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bitly.com\/\">bitly.com<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/\">goo.gl<\/a>&nbsp;or alike to make it look neater.\u2026&lt;wait a couple of days to collect some statistics&gt;\u2026<br><\/li><li>Login to your Google Analytics account, go to Acquisition &gt; Campaigns &gt; All Campaigns. Choose \u201csource\u201d as a primary dimension and either scroll down the list you see, or search by the word \u201cInstagram\u201d.<br><\/li><li>That\u2019s it. The analytics will show all the standard set of data: number of sessions, percent of new Instagram users, bounce rate, session length, number of pages viewed, and so on.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<h3>\n            2. Calculating CTR For a Link in Caption    <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The figure you received will give you a clue if you should keep using this method of link sharing or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"ol-numbers wp-block-list\"><li>\nTake the info about the post impressions from Instagram insights (see the <a href=\"#insights\">Chapter&nbsp;I<\/a>).\n<\/li><li>\nTake the number of sessions from Google Analytics, as described in a previous example.\n<\/li><li>\nCalculate the Click Through Rate.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n    <div class=\"gb-img__figure-container\">\n        <figure class=\"gb-img__figure\">\n                            <picture><source  srcset=\"https:\/\/www.x-cart.com\/img\/20048\/image66-1-raw.png 1x\" type=\"image\/png\" media=\"(max-width: 420px)\" \/><source  srcset=\"https:\/\/www.x-cart.com\/img\/20048\/image66-1-raw.png 1x\" type=\"image\/png\" media=\"(min-width: 421px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\"  width=\"600\" height=\"119\" src=\"https:\/\/www.x-cart.com\/img\/20048\/image66-1-raw.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.x-cart.com\/img\/20048\/image66-1-raw.png 1x\" alt=\"Click-through Rate = (# of people who clicked the link) \/ (# of people who saw the post with the link reference) * 100%\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/picture>                                <\/figure>\n    <\/div>\n    \n\n\n<p>Prepare yourself to see extremely low figures here: even such a simple action as double-tapping the image (or \u201clike\u201d) is taken by 2-8% of post viewers only. Even fewer people strain their muscles to type a comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Typing a link that one must remember first is going to be a very rare action. But as long as you see at least occasional purchases from the heroes who went so far as to enter the link to your products manually, keep pasting this link in your caption.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3>\n            3.
